The Rhinegold for children. Hola, amigos: Estoy preparando una versión infantil del Anillo para niños a partir de 8 años. Para ello, he seleccionado las ilustraciones de Rackham que me han parecido más sugerentes y he redactado el texto a modo de pie de foto. He procurado ser fiel al original wagneriano utilizando un vocabulario sencillo y unas construcciones gramaticales elementales. Así, no aparecen los verbos en pasado, ya que hasta sexto de Primaria no se estudia. Os hago la relación de las 6 viñetas seleccionadas para el Oro y os adjunto las actividades correspondientes a las tres primeras. Si estáis interesados, me lo decís y adjuntaré el resto cuando las tenga redactadas. Un favor os pediría, si veis alguna incorrección, algo de ?espanglish? o pensáis que alguna expresión se puede hacer de manera más sencilla para que los críos las entiendan mejor, agradecería mucho vuestra ayuda, no sea que meta la pata antes de imprimir. Muchas gracias. Rex. THE RHINEGOLD (VIÑETA 1. Alberich persigue a las Hijas del Rin) 1. These three beautiful girls are the Rhine Daughters. They have long, golden hair. They are the guardians of the Rhine gold. Every day they swim and play in the water at the bottom of the river. They like singing a song about the pure gold that is on the top of the highest rock in the river. One day, an ugly dwarf appears. "I am Alberich," he says."I come from the kingdom of the Nibelungs, down under the earth." ?How ugly!? they say and laugh at him. Alberich tries to catch the beautiful girls but he can?t. He is very angry, steals the gold and disappears. The evil dwarf has terrible plans? Las Hijas del Rin le cuentan lo sucedido a Mime) 2. ?Help! Help! Alberich has stolen the gold, the shining Rhine gold!? say the girls to Loge, the god of the fire. The evil dwarf has made a powerful magic ring from the pure gold. His owner will be the world?s master. ?Don?t worry Rhine Daughters. I?ll tell Wotan,? answers the god. Loge is the cunning councilor of Wotan, the king of the gods. Wotan wants to have a powerful castle, the Walhalla. Two strong giants are building it. Terrible things are about to happen? Fasolt y Fafner se llevan a Fricka) 3. The giants Fasolt and Fafner have built the castle. Freia, the goddess of love, is the price Wotan has agreed to pay them for their work. Freia’s golden apples keep the Gods eternally young. They need them. The apples are the secret of the gods’ eternal life. What can the gods do? What can they offer instead of Fricka? The cunning Loge has the answer. Loge tells them that Alberich has a magic ring. Fafner demands it as payment. Everybody agrees. The giants leave, taking Freia with them as hostage. Wotan is forced to follow Loge down into the earth, in search of the ring. Alberich dando latigazos a los Nibelungos) 4. Nibelheim is the kingdom of the Nibelung. It?s a dark place below the ground. Alberich has enslaved the other dwarves. He has forced his brother Mime, the most skillful smith, to create a magic helmet. Its magic makes invisible or take on any form his wearer whishes. Alberich puts it on. Now invisible, he beats the defenseless Mime and the rest of the Nibelung. The evil dwarf loves demonstrate his powers by tormenting them. ?Don?t stop! Dig! Dig! Dig! I want all the gold for my. I want to be the richest and more powerful creature in the world. Obey your master or I?ll hit you!? threatens Alberich (VIÑETA 5. Alberich se transforma en serpiente mostruosa ante Loge y Wotan) 5. Wotan and Loge arrive. Alberich sees them. ?What are you doing here?? he asks. The cunning god of the fire has a plan to trick him. ?Oh, powerful dwarf, we just come to see you," says Loge. ?We have heard about the wonderful things you can do." Very pleased, Alberich boasts of his power and wealth. First, he turns himself into a giant serpent. ?Very good!? says Loge. ?But can you transform yourself into a small animal? If you can, we?ll believe you are the best one.? Alberich turns into a toad. The two gods quickly seize him and bring him up to the surface. (VIÑETA 6. Los gigantes cambian a Fricka por el oro) 6. Wotan and Loge force Alberich to exchange his wealth for his freedom. Before he leaves, Alberich curses the ring: ?Sadness, pain and death to the one who possesses it.? The giants return carrying Freia. ?Well, here we are,? they say. ?If you want this beautiful girl, give us all the treasure.? Wotan hides the ring. ?All the treasure!? they shout. The god obeys. The giants start dividing the gold, but they argue over the ring. Fafner kills Fasolt and leaves with all the treasure. The curse of the ring has gained its first victim. The gods enter the Walhalla. They can hear the lament of the Rhine Daughters: ?Rhine gold! Rhine gold! We miss your brightness. It?s very dark in the river.? They are very sad. |

En la viñeta 3 aparece por error la palabra ?Fricka? en lugar de ?Freia?. No sé qué me pasa que muchas veces las confundo. Quizá sea por la ?F?? Saludos. Rex. Hola, amigos: Aquí os adjunto el texto que acompaña las viñetas de Rackham agupados por escenas. los números se corresponde con e orden en que aparecen las ilustraciones. Rex. THE RHINEGOLD. A partir de las ilustraciones de Rackham. Scene I (1-4) 1. The three Rhinemaidens ? Woglinde, Wellgunde and Flosshilde ? frolic in the depths of the mighty River Rhine. It is their task to guard the Rhinegold. In the waters the gold is pristine ore; taken and fashioned into a ring, it would confer on the wearer measureless power. But to be able to size the gold, a person must first renounce love. The Rhinemaidens are sure no one would be willing to make such a sacrifice. 2. From a fissure in a rock appears Alberich, one of the Nibelungs, a race of dwarfs who dwell beneath the earth. He falls desperately in love with the alluring Rhinemaidens, who tease him heartlessly. 3. Infuriated by the Rhinemaidens? taunts, Alberich climbs the rock for the Rhinegold. 4. Alberich steals the Rhinegold and rushes off, plunging the waters into darkness. Scene II (5-7) 5. Loge, the god of fire and mischief, tells the other gods that he has seen the Rhinemaidens, who told him of the gold?s theft and implored him to have Wotan recover it and return it to their safekeeping. 6. Hearing of the Rhinegold, Fasolt and Fafner decide that it would make an acceptable substitute for Freia. Charging Wotan to steal the gold and have it on hand by evening, they carry off Freia. 7. Without Freia in their midst, the gods immediatly begin to age. Scene III (8-11) 8. In a cavern, Alberich, having forged the ring, has compelled his brother. Mime to fashion the magical Tarnhelm, a cap that allows its wearer to change his form or became invisible. 9. Putting on the Tarnhelm, Alberich is rendered invisible, terrifying Mime. 10. Alberich has wielded his incredible power, enslaving the Nibelungs and forcing them to mine gold and fashion it into a great treasure. Scene IV (11-16) 11. Loge and Wotan visit Alberich, who brags of his powers. Putting the Tarnhelm on his head, he turns himself into a huge serpent. When Loge asks Alberich if he can also turn himself into something small, the dwarf becomes a toad. Loge and Wotan quickly seize him and carry him away. 12. Alberich is held for ransom. He summons the Nibelungs, who surrender the golden hoard. Wotan forces Alberich to give up the ring as well. Shattered, Alberich curses the ring ? may its wearer be doomed! The giants Fasolt and Fafner return with Freia, and order that the treasure be stacked up high enough to block her from their sight. 13. But a chink remains in the pile through which they can see Freia. They tell Wotan to fill it with the ring which he is wearing. He refuses, wanting to keep it and its power for himself. Erda, the all-knowing earth goddess, suddenly appears and admonishes Wotan to give up the ring. Warning him that the race of the gods is doomed, she disappears. 14. Wotan surrenders the ring and Freia is returned. As the two giants argue over the division of the treasure, Fasolt puts on the ring. He is immediately slain by Fafner, who takes the ring and the entire hoard and leaves. 15. The atmosphere has become heavy and oppressive. To clear the skies, Donner, god of weather, creates a thunderstorm by swinging his hammer. 16. The clouds clear, revealing a rainbow that spans the Rhine between the mountain on which the gods are standing and Walhalla. Ignoring the Rhine maidens? lamentation for their lost gold, the gods cross the rainbow and enter the castle. |
